A 1 and 1/2 hour wander through all sorts of coloured pools, sulphur hills, ink pots, devils caves, bubbling water and steaming lakes. Spectacular and fascinating at the same time. Worth the trip down the road to see the free bubbling mud pools and try and get there by 10:15 to see Lady Knox Geyser get set off. You'll see... More

With so many thermal experiences available, Thermal Wonderland really allows you to experience these mind blowing natural wonders in an environment that is safe, hassle free and easy to access for people of all ages. We loved that we could explore at our own pace and the signage negated the need to be stuck in a tour group. Loved it,... More

Lady Knox was rather a disappointment and I wouldn't rush there in the morning to see it. After leaving there we got to the main park and it was pretty busy because everyone had done the same. I'd probably rather go in the afternoon and just have a stroll around the actual park which is really great!!

We really enjoyed the thermal wonderland. Initially we didn't know which thermal area was the most worthwhile to visit, and after doing some research and asking around, we were recommended Wai-O-Tapu. It was a very enjoyable couple hours and the scenery was very unique. We would recommend it.

Geysers and geothermal formations with beautiful sights and nature all around. The staff was friendly and the store was fun with plenty of souvenirs at good prices. The walk was fun and interesting.

I looked at so many photos and videos on youtube as to what to expect of this experience. I even wondered if it would spoil it when I got there. Nope ! Wai-o-Tapu and Waimangu volcanic valley to me are the most beautiful places in the world that I have visited. It is a MUST to visit these two places... More

This was our first time to see these wonders, and the self guided walk was well explained with descriptions along the way. It is a must that you do all the three was, they are so different but all as amazing as each other. We were lucky there was not a large crowd in the park, and we were alone... More
