Short, very steep ride. The cable car museum at the top is worth a visit. Doesn't cost much so you might as well do it when you're in Wellington

What a wonderful way to get from the heart of the City to the Botanical Gardens. There are a few interesting historical write-ups at the top & the walk through the Botanical Gardens was a pleasant meandering journey.

It was so good to be able to ride one of the oldest form of transportation that is still working and servicing the city passengers. A great and novel trip up the hill and fabulous views from the top. Stroll around the gardens, try the human sun dial and either get the cable car down or stroll down through the gardens. Right in the heart of the city too

The trip to the top is quick, no more than 15 minutes. The views are great going up, and also from the deck at the top. The cable car is fabulous for any visitor. Trips every 10 minutes and great views add to the charm. The gardens and observatory at the top are a trip in themselves and highly recommended. Nothing to find fault with for this - highly recommended. Take your camera!

Returned to Wellington after many years. Relived the cable car ride which is a must do whenever in Wellington. Great views as you travel up/down.

Superb view from this location. Cafe on the top should you wish to take in the view and a lovely museum too.
