It is a shame that Highland Nordic is engaged in unethical and possibly illegal practice of selling ski tickets and then deciding not to honor them anymore. I bought several “SKI 3” passes a couple of years ago which were basically prepaid ski tickets sold at about 15% discount and had no expiry date. Because of my unexpected health issues I was not able to use a few of them until this winter. However when I showed up at Highland Nordic in the middle of February, Fred the Highland Program Director announced that they don’t sell these passes anymore and therefore don’t accept them anymore. I was shocked and surprised. Highland Nordic decided not to honor passes that they sold, for which they were more than happy to take money promising that the passes would never expire and then stopped accepting them without any prior warning or announcement. I tried to plead with Fred to accept the 5 tickets I was still holding but he didn’t seem to care. “We don’t accept them because we don’t sell them anymore”, was his only answer and explanation. There are other great cross country skiing places in the area so I am not sure what they gained, not my loyalty that’s for sure because now I enjoy skiing somewhere else and I am not planning to return to Highland Nordic.
I would not recommend Highland Nordic to anyone, it seems that they don’t care much about recreational skiers like myself and their main focus is on running ski schools. You will be better off spending money somewhere else. You should definitely beware of buying ski pass packages from them.

Great trails for any experience level. The trails are clearly marked, so it is very easy to follow the one you want. There also a lot of shortcuts, so if you suddenly want to switch the trail, there is no problem doing that. And the price is great too! I wish I had discovered it earlier in the season!

From the greeting at the parking to the grooming of the cross country ski trials, this place screams “passion” for the customer and the multiple activities, from skiing to fab bikes to snowshoeing. And during a pandemic you could not ask for anything more from a day outside

Our first visit to Highlands Nordic on Feb 10, 2018. Have to say it was one of the most enjoyable skis in Ontario. Nice clubhouse, very helpful staff, beautiful countryside, excellent trails - well-groomed, nicely laid-out, helpful maps at the main junctions. Plenty of parking close to the trail head and chalet. Thanks!

A true amazing shopping experience from A-Z, knowledgeable team, dedicated to their jobs with a clear passion. They make you feel a true VIP, we bought our first county ski package and took a lesson with the most amazing teacher; Kelly. You simply can't go wrong with such an amazing Team.

My parents and I went for a lesson as it was our first time skiing and the whole process was smooth and exciting. The owners are extremely friendly & professional . Kelly our instructor was amazing and took her time to cater to our weaknesses. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Definitely a high caliber of skier on these trails.... but friendly... definitely the least experienced skiers we ran into... great learning space and beautifully groomed trails.... signage was slightly confusing (as compared to scenic caves) but the loops were well thought out and beautiful.

Beautiful outdoors activity center for X country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The trails are well groomed and the location is pristine. Very easy and convenient to drive in from any direction. Only a short distance to local towns for lodging or food.
Quaint cafeteria with great home cooking and fun staff. Everyone working here makes sure you are having a good time and are just like family.
Great place to spend the day no matter your age.
