I was lucky I went to prague during may when the tourists hadnt started flooding into the city so I dont remember being bothered by them... It I a great place to see during the day with plenty of things to do but it is even better at night... Very romantic for a trip with your date where you can...

Old Town Square is basically the center and heart of entire Old Town neighbourhood. Crowded with tourists, but with many architectural wonders to see. There are lots of shops and lovely restaurants, as well as other smaller attractions.
The view is great! The shopping is wonderful and you're right among the oldest buildings and history at every angle! Lots of places to eat too! It was a little crowded at times (every hour on the hour when people would watch the Astronomical Clock Chime) and because the international Prague Marathon was going on too, but worth it!!
There is so much to see and so much history here that it cannot be rushed. You would need to take the full day to discover the best parts.
Years ago we had been here when one could enjoy looking around. Now, if you go at the height of the season, you are mostly fighting your way through crowds without really enjoying it.
A must visit while in Prague-long double sided street filled with shops and restaurants-at the end was a small area with many food vendors and a large souvenir market.Really enjoyed visiting this area.
Entertainers of every kind fill Prague's Old Town Square, and everywhere you turn there's something being thrown, lit or played. Like in the rest of Prague, medieval constructions like Týn Church and the Clock Tower coexist side-to-side with classic buildings in harmony. It's too bad that the view to Týn is blocked by a row of houses.
People watching from sidewalk cafes, the Astrological Clock, wandering musicians, and the ability to walk freely among the OLD beautiful buildings.
Any visitor to Prague has to see the square, but it's too crowded and full of people dressed in 18th century costumes trying to get you to attend concerts.
