Very beautiful.. Almost reminds me of the piazzas in Rome! If you don't want to pay the high prices at the cafe, have lunch nearby in one of the side streets then grab an ice cream and sit in the square :)

we stayed at the castle inn which is one of the only hotels located in the rynek other than hostels. great for walking around, sightseeing and shopping.

Good atmosphere and lots to see and eat. You must try the dumplings and Gofry. Wear good shoes as lots of walking involved. Great on weekends

I had the opportunity to visit the square during the day and a night and it is really beautiful and worth the visti, specially when you learn that most of the city was destroyed during the second world war and that it was reconstructed.

Remarkable reconstruction, although there was no market as such that I could find :-) Be sure to explore all the side streets.

This marketplace, concentration point of restaurants and excellent spot to have an overview over the typical houses of the old town became a centre for my travel companions and me. This is a nice square in the middle of the old town, surrounded by lovely 1600's period houses with a lot of atmosphere. We couldn't find the market here, although the numerous galleries and cafés were lovely. Don't miss the statue of the mermaid in the middle of the square.
