This is a fine 19th century opera house which has, arguable, the best acoustics in Europe. Acoustic engineers cannot figure what makes it so good so it retains its original 19th century finishes out of concerns that renovation attempts might wreck it. he tour is rather pricey--go and hear some music!! Orchestra and opera tickets are very reasonable in Hungary.... More

Guided one-hour tour, in groups by language, was engaging and informative. Venue is spectacular. 10 minute, live "mini-concert" was a good glimpse into opera, up close and personal.

We were lucky to stay long enough in Budapest to attend the Opera. We saw Tosca and were thrilled to pieces at the whole experience. We did dress up, and were happy to see the crowd also came dressed for the occasion. Orchestra quality was Excellent, and the vocals were really awesome. Atmosphere of attending Opera in this kind of... More

Even if you aren't an Opera fan you will be after going here. Beautiful performance in the most beautiful Opera House! Elegrant evening. Go after to Callas next door for dinner.

We wanted to see a bit of an opera without staying the the entire event. This is perfect because you can get really cheap upper balcony seats and then you wont feel like you wasted money if you leave early. The interior of the opera house is quite nice too. Enjoyable experience.

We watched "Snow White" in June 13 there. Had one of the cheapest tickets - just 800HUF, unbelivable! but it was really good, and it might be even worth it to invest a few more money (the most expensive tickets are even just 6000HUF). the opera house itself is awesome and in addition the performance was excellent!

Beautiful building and architecture. On Sunday tour is at 3:00. You can pay a bit more for a short aria performance. It is worth the extra but I was disappointed it wasn't performed in the theater
