We booked on line for the English language tour, I would suspect that there is little capacity for visitors who just walk up seeking to join a tour. One realises how important Hungary and the Austrian-Hungarian influence was on central Europe up until WW1.The State Crown, which the guides call The Holy Crown is sacred to the Hungarians, so no... Although there is a lot of building work on the outside and is confussing as to where the tickets are bought from and where the entrance is,it is well worth the visit. it is stunning inside. we had a tour in English, you are escorted round with your tour guide as well as a member of their armed forces.

The Hungarian parliament building was 'copied' on Westminster. The only external difference is that, unlike ours, the Hungarian version is symmetrical. You can take a tour - ticket in advance - but, right now, the entire area around the building has been dug up and looks like a bomb site.

I am impressed of what beautiful building from outside and inside The Spanish guide was not so good also not really friendly You must be very formal with the military who keep the crown and guide you, because if you are not, they can make your visit shorter But any way was a good and very recommended visit

Built not long after the Palace of Westminster and certainly on a rather grander scale! 46 kilos of gold leaf included in the decoration. Well worth taking a guided tour.

Though filled with treasures and a crisp changing of the guard ceremony, our guide was hard to hear unless you were a few yards from her. She had the most heavily accented English of any guide in Budapest--one in every five words was decipherable. We went there because the DK guidebook said it was the number #1 sight in Budapest... We went to see this place and it was shame that we could not get near it as they are doing building work on it and have fences surrounding it and work men everywhere. If you go on a cruise down the river though then you can see the other side of it which does look beautiful. Its just a... More

I have traveled around the world and would only put Taj Mahal along with the Parliament building in Budapest. Set along the Danube, this stunningly complex, white stone, and deep red roofed building, glistens both during the day and at night when it is lit up spectacularly. The best places to take in the beauty of the parliament are, due... More

Was quite a quick tour, about 45 mins, but bear in mind part of that is getting through security. Tickets are purchased in the museum of ethnography while all the road works are being carried out. We arrived about 9am to purchase tickets and all the English tours were available apart from the 10am. You get to see one of... More

This building itself is amazing, and the interior follows through with that theme. We were there on a day when entry was free. Normal entry fee is not much though. One thing that was odd was the line to get in. We had to circle all the way around a maze, when there was NO line of people waiting at... More
