Diving with Leif and Abel at Port Royal is diving with friends not a customer/client atmosphere. The atmosphere doesn't change whether you are diving alone or in a group. Leif and Abel do all they can to keep their friends relaxed and ready to dive. If you are apprehensive about diving, Dive Port Royal, the friendly courteous atmosphere will melt any worries away.

They have many sites to dive on and are very informative about each. The diving is spectacular, the reef is beautiful and worth seeing again and again. All with a relaxed safe environment.

Had some great diving with Leif of Dive Port Royal this morning. Leif is a really laid back guy who knows the area well. The southeast area of Roatan is not heavily visited by divers yet is some of the best diving on the island. Give him a try if you are diving Roatan.

We used Dive Port Royal during our recent week long stay at Mango Creek Lodge. The diving was the best I've ever had. Our dive master, Leif was wonderful. He knew the best sites, the best routes and had great stories to share about each dive site and the local history. The dive sites were perfect - we were the only dive boat in sight so we had relaxing dives, looking at untouched reefs with tons of coral, sponges, more fish than I could track, eel and even a couple of nurse sharks. Extremely flexible with us, as he accommodated our schedules and even brought us in to port for our dive intervals when the sea was a bit rough. Abel, his assistant, rinsed our gear and had our bc's ready to go each morning, on the tanks, for our first dive. The best service I have ever gotten diving. They really went above and beyond to make our dive trip unforgettable.

The diving is amazing. The reefs are preserved here and the water is beautiful. Leif is a great dive master and you get personal attention. He is knowledgable and fun. His boat is safe and clean. Abel the boat handler is reliable and trustworthy. If you like being "off the grid" an want to feel like you are in your personal, remote paradise, this is it!

Just when you think it doesn't get any better, along comes Dive Port Royal who will lead you on a magical journey to the most pristine reefs you may ever see. In the company of good friends, we recently experienced the Wall to Wall Dive package offered by Dive Port Royal.

After being picked up at BJ's in Oakridge, we headed out to the first dive sight called Paradise Wall. My husband and I snorkeled while our friends dove and it was one of the most incredible snorkel experiences ever! Snorkeling above an abundance of coral heads and barrel sponges we were lucky enough to see a nurse shark swimming lazily in front of us and we were surrounded by schools of fish just going about their day-to-day business of life on the reef. The divers amongst us raved about their experience - and were already planning their next trip with Dive Port Royal during their dive interval. We anchored inside Port Royal Shores Bay where I went back in for another round of snorkeling while the divers in our group relaxed, hydrated and raved about their first dive.

The 2nd dive sight was at Port Royal Gorge. Once again, as snorkelers we were thrilled with the abundance of fish on the reef and the pristine coral and sponges..

We enjoyed a great lunch at Calabash Bight Resort where we sat around tables discussing our dive/snorkel experiences! We were returned to BJ's (our pick-up location) where we sat and listened to the Banditos (a local group of musicians who jam on Fridays), enjoyed a cold beverage and just chilled.

Leif and Kathy of Dive Port Royal are great hosts and provided us with fresh fruit and water during the dive interval. Kathy stayed onboard while Leif (who is a certified instructor and dive master) accompanied the divers.

The pristine nature of the reef system in/around Port Royal makes for an awe-inspiring experience - whether as a diver or a snorkeler. Treat yourself - you won't regret it!
