You can wander fascinated for days. Buy a map for 20p in any small shop. Often the stallholders will guide you to where you want to go, but don't hesitate to give a small boy 50p to guide out if you are lost. I would say the history & interesting features are hard to spot & I def think it... More

The fez Medina is quite the experience! The thing I loved was that it was a totally new culture for me. However, it was so hard for me because even when you say "no" people continue to harass you and try to get you to come to their store or restaurant. I had to tell one guy seven times that... More

Loved navigating the maze oh shop. The Medina is the oldest Medina in Morocco. . Visit the carper places to learn about the weaving and the quality. Offer them at least 50percent

The Medina is a maze but very interesting. This will be a high point of your visit. I did not like the crowds, but that is the way it is. Be careful what you buy. I start off with offering 1/5 of the price mentioned and never go over 1/4. Be prepared to walk away. I hold my top offer... More

Alive, very much alive, a lot of tourists, I admit, but also many locals, feeling like the medieval times (an artisan on 4 square metres making buckets ??), and very modern (cd's for sale). Be prepared for crowded places, be prepared for fraud and bargaining, but do enjoy all the rest : I liked it very much

we are the types who like a challenge, but from our hotel we could see how tightly packed the medina was. we got a guide for this trip, and was the best money spent.

We took a guide, Hassan whom we could not have done without! Our fellow travellers in the Riad saw less in 3 days than we did with our guide. The streets are tiny and meandering and one dodges donkeys all day! The craft places are totally authentic and there is no appreciable hassling in the souks. You need to be... More
