I'd have never imagined myself enjoying a cable car ride so much but I really did. The price is pretty out of the way but it's definitely worth making a trip down specially for the cable car because it's so cheap yet fun.

We took the gondola all the way to the top, and there were spectacular views. At the top there are food stands, a few paths for hiking and many, many tea shops. We had tea and ice cream looking out over the mountain top. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. The gondola is walking distance from the... More

Snuggle up with a cutie for almost 3 hours. I went at night, less busy and dark... Perfect time to, well you know... :) just remember to keep the weight inside the gondola balanced!

Very cheap 25 minute cable car ride up the mountain from Taipéi zoo to Maokong mountain. Excellent vews of Taipéi in the distance, especially at night, can recomend the Longmen Restuarant for great food and best views, It´s a tea growing área so interesting tea shops and museums, temples etc....well worth a visit.

Take the amazingly long (over 4km horizontally) to the top. You can ride the regular or "crystal" cabins - the price is the same, but the latter have see-through floors which in my humble opinion wasn't a match for the huuuuge lines compared to regular ones. Oh well, a bit of an extra scare factor. The ride up was more... More

This is a really popular attraction so avoid weekends if possible. Unfortunately, I was in Taipei during a long weekend so I had no choice of avoiding the crowds. I queued for 50 mins for the regular cabin because the wait for the crystal cabin was 90 mins. Then took the ride from Taipei Zoo to Maokong. Upon reaching Maokong,... More

From Taipei Main station, take MRT to Zhongxiao Fuxing & change to Wenhu Line to Taipei Zoo station. The walking distance to Maokong Gondola station is about 10 minutes & the ticket for return gondola ride is NT100, whether crystal/normal cabin. On the way up the hill, u can view southern part of Taipei, lush greenery, some tea plantations and... More

Highly recommended to take the 20min scenic ride.Costs you next to nothing (NT50) for single trip ride. It's a short MRT ride from the city, get nice views from the mountain top (can see Taipei 101), good walking trail and good food. If you visit during the flowers season eg Mar for cherry blossom and lupin, you get a bonus!... More

My husband and I went on a misty day but still enjoyed the view. Waited in line for only 10 minutes and had the steel bottom gondola by ourselves. The line for a clear bottom gondola was much longer. We had taken gondola rides throughout the world and this was by far the cheapest at US$1.75 per person each way... More
