As there are so many temples in Thailand this seemed to me as another temple. Still nice but there are nicer ones around.

As much as I was a little disappointed by the emerald buddha - I still believe this is a Must Do! I could not believe how small it was based on how much it was discussed. But the history of the Buddha alone between Thailand and Laos makes it something worth seeing as well as how important it is to... More

Beautiful Wat, but very crowded. Fantastic sights, but not typical of a Thai temple, so please do not make this your only visit to a temple. Find an ordinary wat, and feel the Thai experience, but the ornateness of this temple is amazing

It's amazing heritage to see and obviously famous so worth the trip. The crowds are at times over wheeling, especially with our young kids with the humidity on top!

Like everything in Bangkok, too many people, too crowded. Nice facility, worth the visit, just keep that in mind.

Located in the grand palace (entry fee 500bht - so high!!), the emerald Buddha is a nice place to visit, however honestly it is very similar, more busy and less impressive than the other temples (eg reclining Buddha/wat pho), furthermore, a very strict sitting policy and no photo policy is enforced. However since it is included in the grand palace... More

The emerald Buddah is made of jade- it is small but absolutely beautiful. it is easy to imagine why it was moved so many times and wanted by so many cities. It has found a beautiful home here in Bangkok.

Don't miss this. Spend the few dollars for a guide, so you know what you are looking at. It felt a lot like being in the Sistine Chapel, and I have to say, even more beautiful. Get someone to watch your shoes outside, or put them in a bag and bring them with you, so they aren't stolen while you... More
