The temple of the Cao Dai is unlike any other temple or pagoda in the world. It is the place of worship of Cao Daism who believe in the "all knowing and all seeing" god "Cao Dai" who have interesting saints, namely Sun Yat-sen, Victor Hugo and Nguyen Binh Khiem. This religion is rare and has a little over 1... More

Hadn't seen anything like this temple before! Quite amazing & if you are going to the Cu Chi Tunnels it can be visited on the way. The tour I was on meant we were there in the morning & didn't see a service but we were able to go inside, look around & take photos, etc. Very interesting!

I went to this temple with limited knowledge about this religion. We arrived in time for the midday service, which we were allowed to observe. What a treat! This was an interesting visit that I thoroughly enjoyed. Worth the trip, in my opinion. It was about 3 hours out of Saigon, but when coupled with the Cao Dai tunnels, made... More

It is a unique place to visit as this religion is not commonly followed. But the temple was very beautiful and very peaceful. We saw the prayer rituals and it was indeed very interesting to see the rythmic processes. A must for every visitor to Vietnam.

Very impressive building, but felt very much on the tourist conveyer belt, everyone piled in to get up to the viewing gallery upstairs. was very interesting to see the prayers etc taking place, a unique concept in religion, it takes parts of several different religions to form its own. Nice to see but if i had the choice of thhis... More

Although listed here as a Saigon attraction, the temple is a good 2hrs by car from Saigon. We went, as many others did on a trip combining the temple and the Cu Chi tunnels. Our guide recommended that we get here before 12 noon so we could see the start of the service, but in hindsight I would have liked... More

The concept of this modern religion that recognizes prophets and profound people from various spiritual practices and cultures is quite interesting. The actual temple is a colorful, jumbled mish-mash of symbols and houses of worship (church/mosque/temple). Didn't feel moved religiously, but the creativity is admirable and the sight is worth visiting.

Don't forget to take your shoes off. Some monks yelled at my 6 year-old daughter when she stepped onto the main area of the temple with her sandals on.

We travelled to Cao Dai Temple as part of our day tour with Jason Superstar Services. It was part of the Cu Chi Tunnel tour. The temple was fascinating with the different style architecture throughout. Make certain that if you are on a tour / alone you get there around 12pm for the service. There are viewing galleries upstairs during... More
