We arrived behind a huge group of Israeli teenagers. I remember standing in line a long time, and listening to the teenagers talk. They were curious about us. They were noisy, but like any group - we were noisy too. All talking with one another. They were well-behaved but full of life. Then we started our descent into the tunnel.... More

You must visit simply to walk the tunnels and to get a true feeling of the old ruins to see what it was like to live in the day. It is a calm peaceful area.

Try to go early in the day when you still have a lot of energy. You need water shoes for part of the tunnels.

One needs a tour guide to get the best information out of this attraction. It is a marvelous place to learn about our history.

The 3d movie was quite helpful on catching you up to speed on the history of the city of David. The Canaanite Tunnel is rather boring, but Hezekiah's Tunnel is a must. Wish we had a guide for it to learn more informative things about it.

Compared to everything else we did in Israel, this was a real letdown. They did have a nice video at the beginning but the tour was excruciating. Our guide toured more by asking questions than relating the information "and his mother was...?", "whose sister was...?" and if you haven't recently been through Jewish school or a reading of the Torah,... Great chance to learn the history of Jerusalem and Israel. Well narrated tours by docents who clearly love what they are doing. facility is very good. Don't miss walking through the tunnels, but if you are claustrophobic beware! They are dark and the small flashlights you get at check in are flimsy. Bring your own flashlight and water shoes and...
