It is a must to at least visit all the "holy" sites just to get a feel for history. I was set back on how all the "holy" sites wee covered over with giant "churches."
We arrived here after going through the Via Dolorosa. The gardens are beautiful. We walked into this tomb where they may have laid Jesus, and saw how they were laid to rest in those days. Was it the place... The historians say no...Does not make any difference...they still come in their thousands...Its nicely laid out Gardens, Veranders and walkways are...Worth a look...then ,make your own mind up.
The Garden where we believe Jesus was buried is beautiful. It's like looking into heaven with the trees, the flowers, the birds. Then the tomb cut out of rock. I am not sure of the provinance of this as the actual tomb of Jesus, I think it more likely it is in the Holy Sepulchre, but it gives you an idea of the type of tomb that was used. Very helpful guide, lovely surroundings a real oasis in a busy city
We were fortunate to catch it on an off time - no busloads of tourists to contend with & thus very peaceful. The volunteer guides are just wonderful & we took advantage of the very nice shop there. Do your homework & pick an off time to visit.

We visited the Garden Tomb which is claimed to be the actual tomb of Jesus, identified by it's remarkable similarity to the bible description. I am aware that archaelogically, they can't prove that the site is the actual grave of Jesus, but we came away thinking that it is very possible.
