The sights along the mountain are beautiful..It took about half an hour to climb from the busstop to dragon's back and about half an hour to complete it. It isnt tough but mind you, the route is really like a dragon's back (rocky and 'scaley' and the sight up there is worth it. You can see the different islands from... More

Nice walking trail, the views are well worth the walk, gets quite busy on weekends. Still beautiful and fairly quiet considering it's in HK.

We did this walk "the other way" - starting at the walk from Chai Wan and walking to Shek-O. I liked the walk up through the Graveyard at Chain Wan, and then the first perhaps third of the trail is nothing spectacular - you get the occasional view through the tress and can appreciate the views. However, as the trial... More

The views are really nice along the hike, and one would meet plenty of friendly people escaping from the urban sprawl that is Hong Kong, including a group of housewives enjoying Alan Tam songs being blasted from their CD player! Be warned though that toilets are scarce along the hike, so be prepared to take a short detour into the... More

Allocate at least half a day out. Bring enough food and water, sunscreen, hat, and the usual hiking gear - be prepared for all types of weather up there on the mountain! For us it was humid, and sunny, and then overcast, and a little windy, with a few mud pools on the track. Toilets are only available once you... More

It is fairly easy to reach Dragon's back. Take the island line to Shau Kei Wan station, exit to the bus terminal and take bus no. 9, stopping at To Tei Wan stop. Once you alight, you wouldn't miss the sign that says Dragon's Back. It is a "medium" level hike with some steep steps and uneven sandy paths here... More

Running the Dragon's Back in Hong Kong turned out to be our very favorite thing we did on that trip. We went to Macau and Lan Tau too, but we really loved this experience the best. We are avid runners and love exploring new places in the elements, and not much for guided tours. If you feel the same about... More

A simply fantastic hike in Hong Kong. I took my two boys (4 and 3 years) on it the other day and they loved it. Starts flat through the trees with good shelter from the Sun. They a series of humps and climbs with breath taking views over Big Wave Bay and Shek'O. You normally get a nice breeze at... More

This is a beautiful walk with Tai O beach on one side and view of Red Hill peninsula on the other. It's a beautiful trail, not too hard and not too easy. Definitely a must try if you're in HK.

Hike takes 90 mins or so, is not too strenuous and you can recoup on the beach plus wash it all down with an incredible thai - v. close to the car park near the main beach
