Great building to look at with park in front of it. I like to sit at the bench and enjoy the day pass by.

The Atheneum is a small concert venue, in the round, with beautiful decor from the moment of entry. The performance area is likewise spectacular and acoustically a fine place to listen to performances. The best seating, we think, is the second tier stalls around the wall, nominally seating 5 on comfortable chairs and bench seating (there is a sixth pullout... More

We were lucky to be able to get a peek at the interior of this lovely building as when we passed it was officially closed. We were grateful to see even a part of the interior as it is special.

Cultural tourism at its best. I went on Friday for a concert and it was one of the most relaxing and interesting experiences I've had so far. Especially after a busy day, enjoying a concert in one of the most beautiful buildings in Bucharest is the best way to end your day. Totally recommend it for tourists and locals as... More

For three euros, we got to wander around the inside of the building, but when we went in the concert chamber, there was an orchestra, college-aged folks, rehearsing. it was awesome.

We had a personally guided little tour early in the morning, Very impressive building and would think it would be great to actually see someone playing here. Lots of historical frescoes, ornate ceilings, glasswork, the works. It is ornate, without being overdone. Well worth a look.

I was in a concert and it was my third visit to this place. The acustics is fantastic and the decor is marvolus. the seats are from red valvet and qre quite comfortable, It is a pity it doesnt have a careteria or a bar in which you can buy beverates and refershments.

Way to go C0rwin (the guy who wrote his impression just before me)! There isn't much more I could add to his description. We felt just the same and we too immediately felt the urge to listen to a concert but there where none. Just the same, we went out smiling.

A small but cozy and impressive concert hall, the Romanian Athenaeum is a must even for those that don't love the classical music. The massive paiting from the big concert hall depicts the romanticized history of Romania. Tickets are hard to get sometimes (due to the big number of season ticket holders) but there is also the option of a... More
