The whole area is a mass of bars and restaurants mixing traditional with modern, local with International. We wandered around spoilt for choice, I wonder in high season though whether you would get a table if it is this busy off season.
Lots of people, good place for people watching and a drink or meal. Saturday night was the most bust and entertaining. Lots of construction.
Arguably the nicest and best part of Bucharest, you are never far from an eatery or a bar in this part of town. Just watch out for the occasional hawker and for the smokers. Smoking is still allowed inside bars here, so be warned.
This is a smallish area, about 4 or 5 blocks square filled with old houses and architecture, restos and bars. Great for a walk about by day and a great destination for the nighttime to morning hours. Ended up here many times and always had a nice time.
Wandering the old town is very easy. It's not too large, but Saturday night, and I wonder how many nights of the week, there are literally thousands of people pressed between the alleys and narrow pedestrianised streets seated at the plethora of bars and restaurants that line every byway.
this is the best part of Romania right now. The most popular spot this is where everything is happening from 8pm til 8 am
It seems so sad that this charming part of the town is now completely overrun with bars offering cheap drinks offers and loud music. Progress needs to come to Romania, but I wonder if this is really the way it needs to be.
Having a historic city center that has concentrated restaurants, bars, nightclubs and shops is a no-brainer place to visit. Some of the best restaurants and cafes are her along with the best people watching in town.
The architecture is wonderful and the bars and restaurants plentiful. We actually changed our trip itinerary so we could spend a few extra nights in Bucharest in order to go out a few more times in Old Town.
