This is just great, everything inside this walled city is very nice and well maintained, several streets to walk, a nive church and some piazzas, a perfect place to walk day and night

I was apprehensive about my visit to Cartagena, having read that it is a popular destination for cruise ships and therefore expecting it to be very busy with tourists. Quite a safe place to walk around at any time of the day or night. Precious houses and historical places.
The colonial wall are impressive, they surround the city, and according to Claudia, our guide, 11 kilometers were built originally, that is about 9 miles.
Restive, restorative and beautiful the hotel we stayed at was out of town in a quaint village. Located on the beach it was quiet and scenic.
The colonial part of the old town is totally walled and simply amazing ! We really liked the city, but specially this area which is the most historical one.
The streets within the walled city are beautiful, many many coloured houses with the lovely flower vines growing over the walls.
We spent numerous hours wondering around on foot exploring all the museums, plazas, cafes, restaurants etc.
There are touts everywhere selling hats, paintings, bags, jewellery, drinks, ice creams, cigars- ANYTHING!
