A residential area with quaint homes, leafy roads, markets and temples, a walk here can take you back in time. Always buzzing with activity, Basavanagudi buzzes even more feverishly before festivals. There are numerous restaurants here, some institutions in themselves. This is a good place to feast on idlis (savory cake), dosas (savory pancakes) and the famous filter kaapi (coffee). « less

So many places to visit - Bull Temple, Bugle Rock, restaurants, Gandhi Bazaar, Food Street, all are nearby. This is one of the oldest localities of Bangalore. Once upon a time, this area was complete with Kannada speaking population, although the trend has changed a lot now.

I stay 2 minutes away from Basavanagudi. Check the best places to visit in India and Basavanagudi and Dodda Ganapati gudi will surely be in the list. Basava(Big Bull) in the temple is 15 ft in height & 20 feet in length. There is a pickaxe hit on the head as the Basava was growing and there was no respite... More

Love this place in Bangalore. The shops give a feel of the old Bangalore and the food places dish out some authentic Bengaluru cuisines.

Anyone looking for old Bangalore should visit this area. This area is tree lined with a few residents still managing to maintain their ancestral property. Vidhyarthi Bhavan is located in Basavanagudi. We can do our shopping in the numerous shops located. This best place here is of course the famous Bull Temple, built by Kempagowda. The area also has a well... More

Roads dotted by trees, mouth-watering eateries, village-style fruit/vegetable/flower market, heritage temples and excellent shopping options...one among the few remaining places because of which Bangalore is still called a "Pensioner's Paradise" or "Garden City". Must visit place in Bangalore..!!! DO NOT MISS : 1. Bull Temple 2. Dodda-Ganapathi Temple 3. Vidyarthi Bhavan (for mouth-watering Dosas) 4. Bugle Rock Park (It has... More
