Could not resist going to this temple daily evening and enjoy the 'Aarthi' pooja - very peaceful. they say the temple is nearly 2000 years old and a king whose ship suddenly stopped a few miles away from this temple. Reason not known and while the ship was being repaired, the king who walked along the beach found this temple... More

Just one thing I wanted to share.. Guys are not allowed inside the temple wearing a top.... they'll ask you to open it... It's a 2000 years old temple...

We went just before it closed for the day and there wasn't aybody else around. There didn't seem much to see and nobody we could ask about it either. Probably give it a miss.

This was a very old and expansive temple. very clean, excellent arathi(evening puja)-we got the chance of lighting all the candles on the walls in memory of elder recently passed

Very nice temple. Many hours are not enough to watch the beauty of lord krishna's idol located in this temple. As the temple has many steps and not very suitable old people and patients with leg pain.

We went to the temple around 8 pm. The temple was lit with loads of small oil lamps and looked incredibly beautiful. Its a really old vishnu temple and had some of the most intricate stone carvings of indian god & goddesses. We witnessed the elaborate evening prayer ceremonies and participated too. that temple is near to main beach of varkala....it is a must visit place in varkala......I went there with my wife to get the blessing of lord Vishnu..........

I am not normally interested in churches, temples and mosques, I tend towards the view that once you've seen one you've seen them all. The temple visit is just to see what is in there! Temple is neat and well maintained! Good to see! And remember men should remove their shirts!
