Nice clean beach, but you did get sand blasted by the wind. Very Indian at one end, so cover up, more touristy at the other end.

Beautiful beach, only thing I was disappointed about were there weren't any sunbeds of umbrellas which made it impossible to sunbath as it was far to hot without at least an umbrella for shade. However there are plenty of places to sit ad have a drink whilst enjoying the view.
Lots of international people and met many from my country. Enjoyed it very much. Good water sports too.

In my experience, the best beach in India. Less crowds, laid back atmosphere, serene and beautiful. Enjoyed the bathing, the wonderful breeze and the food at Clafouti. Came back refreshed with memories to last a lifetime!
If you have the time, you must make a trip to Varkala Beach - about 60km from Trivandrum. The difference is that it has a cliff on one side and the beach looks refreshingly clean and uncrowded. The beach also offers plenty of staying options as well. For the religiously inclined, there are temples too, the Janardhanaswamy Temple being one...
