AS other reviewers have said, close enough for a day trip. The theater is built on arches, indicating that it is Roman. Look for the Roman concrete blocks in the towers off the upper level and remember that making concrete was a technology lost for a thousand years after the collapse of the Roman empire.

Good example of a Roman amphitheatre. Worth a visit. Better with a guide to give information. Roman soldiers add to the atmosphere, but they only want you to pay for a photo with them!

This is an amazing ancient theatre, it is still function at these day, the theatre is well preserved, we were sit under the sun appreciating the setting, it is just amazing. We will love to go back next summer when they have concerts in this theatre.

Def a great stop w/in easy distance from Antalya. Other than the fake gladiators, we were so impressed. Great restoration project, thank god the Turks never destroyed it. I have mixed feelings about this site. While this is a quick and easy place to get to and it is easily accessible for everyone to visit the theatre because there is not much walking at all involved from the parking to the theatre, I think it is too expensive compared to other ruins. There is really nothing much else...

This Theater has been preserved with its 15,000 capacity from its Greco-Roman history in Antalya province of Turkey. Perfect acustics with perfect view from its old stairs and dungeons . This theatre was very well preserved and was beautiful. I highly recommend taking a tour here as well as to Perge. It made a perfect day trip.

Sitting around 40 minutes from Antalya, there's nothing around but this theatre, give it a try for 30 minutes, go in the morning to avoid peak hours in the afternoon!

On the orders of Kemal Ataturk the Theater was renovated it is just wonderful it must be amazing to watch a performance in there.
