Beautiful white sand beach with these unbelievable crabs that are constantly scurrying everywhere. This is the best beach in the area by far. We had a very relaxing day there.
a short tuk tuk ride to us to a lovely beach with no beach boys. nice sand and a nice little beach, but once the tide was out there was little to offer except hard coral for meters and drying seaweed with brought in the flies. Time your visit well!
The only thing missing was a Bounty Bar.lol.....remember those ads from the 70's? Well the beach was amazing with small crabs darting across the pure white sand and diving down into their holes, and eels in the rock pools, the beach is steeped with nature and history, it would be so easy to miss out on the best bits. The landscape of Watamu beaches is amazing: long white sandy beaches and islands becoming hills when tide is low, make this place unique. The lack of infrastructures (unless you are not in a resort) make the beaches very wild but not suitable for families. The reef is quite dead and not comparable to other reefs (Red sea or Maldives) but... More
A beautiful white sand beach, with funny crabs speeding across. There are algae in some areas though, and the occasional jelly fish stings you in the water.
nice white sandy beach with emerald sea. Nice and comfy chaise lounge with the perfect amount of shade. Prices can be negotiated for the entireor half day.
This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Malindi is a great place because it is a city with access to many amenities like banks, supermarkets etc, but the beach can sometimes be polluted by the flooding nearby Sabaki river. The beach then becomes full of leaves and the water is brownish. Not so in watamu. The... More
We made the taxi trip to this beach as in past years it has been in spectacular condition with some interesting local crafts and items of interest. The beach was covered in huge quantities of dense seaweed, the shops have been knocked down so as not toobstruct a yet again unfinished building site which is just rubble and the whole area... More
We were staying in Mtwapa but had to come all the way to Watamu for it's beautiful white-sand beaches. There sort of "island" isolations which are a few meters from the beaches and u can walk through the ocean to them (on low tides.. which is awesome) or take a boat ride service offered by locals. From Mombasa, it's about... More
