I contacted a number of dive operators in Borneo to organise trips to Lankayan Island Resort and Kapalai Resort for our honeymoon in May. Downbelow were prompt in their reply to my emails, extremely helpful and provided lots of information about each place. They offered a good discount on booking both packages together which made them the cheapest (not the... more

Learning with Downbelow was really wonderful because the staffs were so friendly. Safety was of paramount to them so you'll leave with a knowledge of safety skills. The food was great and the best part was studying the OW theory at the centre because the settings were so idyllic. I will certainly go back for more dives more

There are other scuba companies operating in KK, some of them are quite good. I live locally, in KK and have dived with several of them. However, in my opinion, Downbelow are the best choice. Their PADI 5 star centre on Pulau Gaya has evolved steadily over the past few years providing excellent facilities and good quality, well maintained equipment.... more

While unfortunately only able to spend 1 day diving, we enjoyed a few fun dives although sadly visibility wasn't the best on the day. The DownBelow crew were fun and most helpful and had excellent knowledge of the local marine wildlife and habitat. They also cooked up an awesome curry lunch! more

Outstandingly good. Everybody, in the KK office, and on the island at the Dive Centre, couldn't have been more helpful and my instuctor, Cyril, was unfailingly bright and patient. Thoroughly recommended. more

Activity: Diving Place: Dive Down Below @ Island of Pulau Gaya in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, Borneo Malaysia. Having had my PADI licence for 10 years I wanted my wife and daughter to experience the beautiful unknown nature of the world below sea level. We had already booked our holiday to Borneo and were attracted by the very professional... more

My partner, ten year old son and I went on the day trip with Downbelow to Palua Tiga, aka Survivor Island, which included two dives, refreshments, lunch and a wallow in the volcanic mud baths. The day included transfers to and from our hotel and an hours boat ride; unfortunately it was rather choppy that day so would definately recommend... more

This was my first time diving in Malaysia and I had a great time with Downbelow. The package deals were worth it (though I wasn't as impressed with the Jessleton Hotel) but Downbelow means it when they say there are no hidden fees and they serve up a quality diving experience: Great equipment, a very fast boat, and all you... more

We spent two days diving with Downbelow in February 2010. We had such a wonderful time on beautiful Gaya island that we really did not want to leave. The staff is very friendly and want you to have the best dive experience around. Their dive center is on Gaya Island, which offers great views and a very relaxed atmosphere so you can enjoy your trip.
