The Texas History Museum is an amazing and engaging way to learn about all aspects of Texas history. It is a gem in the heart of music country and very visually exciting. We only had a couple of hours to spend there; I could have stayed all day.

This museum was less than a 15 minute walk from the Capitol. Numerous exhibits and video presentations. Everything was very professional, and exceptionally well done. Not to be missed if in downtown area of Austin.
I love me some Texas, so forgive me if I'm prejudice, but I'm a serious museum fan and have been to them all over the world - all kinds. When it comes to history museums, this is one of my favorites - and not just because it's about Texas. The way they exhibit the information is unique. What they exhibit...

I am really not much for history or museums but my husband wanted to go here. It was an enjoyable activity while we waited for my son to finish his freshman orientation at UT. We walked right over. You really need at least two or three hours to take in the entire museum. The first floor covers native texans through...

This is such a cool place. The exhibits are always well done, great gift shop, wonderful architecture and also an IMAX theatre. At times they also host concerts by local Texas musicians.

The exhibits were interesting and there were some really beautiful old relics I had never seen before. I liked the way the museum created...

The building was huge with loads of exhibits and a lot of interactive ones. Its a bit dark walking around but not so much it makes things difficult. The price is fair.
If you're from Texas, maybe this is more appealing to you. My husband and I both enjoy US history quite a bit, but we weren't overly impressed with this museum. It's 3 floors of Texas history, with several artifacts and a few short movie clips to provide more information. There is also an IMAX theater there. Since we went on...

A must see, gives an ever changing outlook on Texas and how it got to today, as the exhibits are on loan, it is a continually changing place, excellent for kids, or something to do on very hot afternoons in the middle of summer.
Great gift shop, particularly if you want that star of Texas star for the wall at...

Imax theatre is wonderful. Nice museum store with "all things Texas". Great place for kids, as well as thoughtful exhibits for adults. Especially informative for people who are not familiar with Texas history. I enjoyed it all---nothing bad. Admission prices are very reasonable.
