I suggest you just go out to eat and then go home and turn on the comedy channel. At least then you can walk out.
I was a bit skeptical of the show because of the political satire angle, but it was nothing short of spectacular! The music and performers we hilarious no matter what your politics are! The jokes were relevant even up to what had happened in the news that day! With the window opening into the street, it's really worth it! There's... More
A friend who lives in Austin recommended Esther's Follies and I'm so glad we chose to make a reservation to see the show. We literally didn't stop laughing the whole 80 minutes we were there. Some pretty impressive magic tricks, audience participation and very up to the moment, witty writing that made the skits smart and very funny. Get there... More
Excellent show worth seeing when you are on 6th street. Fall out of your chair funny thru out the show. Funny funny funny.
This is one of my favorite spots. They always add current news items to their skits. The magician is so funny, but he's also very talented. I took a friend with me that had never been to Austin. She was laughing her head off! They are all very talented. They make clothes changes and characters at the drop of a... More
Getting long in the tooth. I started going to Esthers perhaps 30 years ago, but still entertaining for newcomers. Crime and crowding on 6th street is something else. Watch you wallet and I wouldn't go wandering down a dark alley.
I decided to take a mini road trip with my boyfriend to Austin, and I had no idea what we would get into. I looked up different activities and ran across this comedy show. I must say that we had a really good time. The location was perfect, because it was on 6th Street. We got there early for the... More
I was hesitant, admittedly. I'm new to Texas and feared that a lot of the Texas-specific humor would be lost on me. But spurred by the amazing reviews, I decided to check it out. And wow, I'm so glad I did! Absolutely hilarious. I was in tears much of the show from laughing so hard.
I went there for my birthday and it was excellent. I wish I had known about it a couple months earlier when I had a friend in town. It was very much like Second City (for those true Chicagoans). It was well rehearsed yet seemed fresh and exciting still. Highly recommended for tourists and locals alike. Afterwards they gave us... More
