The tour is given by volumteers from the church and they do an excellant job. Not the most thrilling thing you will do in DC but I think it's a must do 30 minute tour
The Christ Church in Alexandria is an interesting, historical location and worth a look. The church has an old graveyard on site with a lot of interesting grave markers. The church reminded us of the Christ Church of Philadelphia but seemed a little smaller. The site is a little confusing for a tourist because there are separate buildings on the...

How can you go wrong with a church that considers George Washington and Robert E Lee as previous members.
Definitely a terrific worship experience. Liturgy a little challenging for a Methodist, but people extremely friendly. Verger greeted us and made sure the Rector (from Cincinnati) knew we were also from Ohio. He greeted us just prior to worship. Wonderful worshipping in a church that celebrates George Washington and Robert W. Lee in it's past.

A church attended by George washington, Robert E. Lee and other early American notables. A church member gave us a great discussion of the church history and facts after the service. The church yard is a pleasant place to rest
Interesting church. Quite white and plain inside and quite charming. Pews laid out so some would have had backs to altar. Great to sit in the Washington and Robert E Lee family pews.
Most tour gudes first words are "don't touch anything"..Imagine being invited to sit in the same pew as these famous men did and have your picture taken? The well informed docent will issue this invitation after a most informative talk about the church. The whole town of Alexandria is a gem, but starting here sets the tone for the rest...

We stopped by here and were impressed with the stark simplicity of the church yard and the sanctuary. The staff were very welcoming and overall sense of the place is one of a place that has been held as sacred for hundreds of years. Have a look
