The place is famous for the massacre that happened way back in 1919 and as of now not much is left except for a few bullet marks at the other end of the walls. This place is always packed with people and is worth for one time visit.

The moment you enter the small alley leading to the Bagh the plaque hits you as this was the alley used by Dyer to enter the Bagh for the massacre. It brings to memory Dyers purported statement that he would have taken an armored car but it could not enter the Bagh, The bullet holes remind you of the inhuman... More

Short english description of the massacre, topiary soldiers showing where shots were fired from, no funny rules about taking shoes off and disallowing bags/cameras. Free entry to park, and also to the slideshow upstairs in Hindi. Could do with better signage, and improving the slide show to include non-Hindi audience. AC in video room a welcome respite from the summer... More

Jallianwala Bagh at Amritsar is a place worth seeing. It brings home the memories of the people who were brutally killed by General Dyer. The bullet marks on the wall are still intact. One can see the well wherein a no of men, women and children jumped into in order to save their lives. It is now a well-maintained memorial garden... More

History remembers General Dyer as one of the most inhumna person in the world deserving condemnation years after years. It was 1919, 13th april around 4 to 5 PM, a meeting was going on on Baishakhi day in Jaliwanwalabaggh Field. There was a British rule. and order for not allowing a gathering or meeting. general Dyer in place of dispersing... More

In 1919, during the British Raj, there'd been a fear among Europeans living in Punjab that plans were afoot to overthrow British rule. Convinced that a meeting of up to 20,000 people in Jallianwala Bagh public garden was about to become a major insurrection, the local British army chief, Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer, took a troop of army riflemen to the... This place fills one with patriotism. You kind of feel angry looking at the bullets and the well where several of the martyrs died. I was lucky to arrive here on 13th of April, which happened to be the date of the gruesome massacre, so emotions were high in the ground. The maintenance could be done better as this site... More
