A lot of choices here and the food and cake are quite nice overall. Very good business and by prepared to queue for payment. Oh ya, must try their Otak Otak.
Heard so much about Baba Charlie and was glad to finally had the chance to make it to his shop/ house. It is hidden away from the main road so it is quite easy the miss the lane that leads to the place. Worth the hassle though when we arrived. Wide variety of Nyonya kueh to choose from and we... More
Charlie makes his kuehs (nonya cakes) in his back yard, and sells them at night markets. The road leading to it is quite narrow, so it would be advisable to park on the opposite side of Jalan Tengkera. I think the best experience one can take away from this visit is to see and find out about the extensive range... More

Made a number of turns before finding this place. Many kuihs available and they all look so delicious. The ondeh ondeh is one of the best I have ever tasted. Not so much for the curry puff though. Would love to buy more the next time and devour it straight away instead of bringing it home.
It's an off beaten track from the buzz from central but not too far from Dataran Pahlawan. Don't get too shocked when you drive into a very narrow road. There are small signage placed which tells you that you are the right place. Wanted to buy more stuff cause all the kuihs looks delicious but lack of sufficient cash when... More
When my wife's friend recommended this place, we really did not know why so special as we could enjoy all sort of Nyonya Kuih at Jonker Street. However, this place is listed in GPS tourist attraction and we could locate it easily. Before reaching it, we have to go thru a narrow road in residence place...and we thought that should... More
This place is the place to go for authentic Peranakan or Straits Chinese cakes in Melaka. It is off the beaten track, and Baba Charlie's cakes are sold in various places including some restaurants and night markets, but it's still worth making a trip to this place, which is his house, if you want the entire array of cakes available....
