I am a local, and I left this place satisfied and impressed. They did very well with the conservation of the place, everything was set up like it hasn't changed for a century. The stories which Shirley (our guide) told us, sounded a lot like some chinese drama. A must-visit if you're in Malacca. Check out the opening times first... More

This is a nice tour of a traditional house in Melacca. Our tour guide spoke a little too quickly but aside from that it was a great insight into the Peranekan family home and lifestyle. I would highly recommend this as a place to visit when you are in Melacca. It's one of my highlights.

The guide Shirley was well informed and kept all that attended engaged! The way the home has been kept in its original form, is a credit to the family ! A well worthwhile tour- a must do if visiting Melaka !

this museum should be the highlight of anyone's visit to this historic city! while pricey by Malaysian standards, a RM12 entrance fee includes a mandatory guided tour. and no photography is allowed. our Nonya guide Sabrina was both engaging and hilarious. the tour took almost an hour, bringing us to different parts of the house turned museum. Sabrina had shared... More

This is the first visit to Melaka. I just visited this museum today, it was insightful! I'm glad I visited, the tour lasted about an hour, explaining the history of baba and nyonya, the way they live, their cultures, and real story behind it. Definitely worth it!

A fabulous insight into the traditional lives of the local people and their past. Our tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable. A great value for money tour - $12 MYR - tour goes for approx. 1 hour. Well worth a visit.

If you want to learn how the rich lived their lives, this is a good place to learn. Our guide was instructive in explaining the Peranakan lifestyle. The museum belongs to a fourth generation Peranakan with actual photos of of his ancestors, real furniture used by them and even kitchen utensils used long ago. It's a great way to learn... More

If you want to learn more why Tun Tan Cheng Lock is known as Millionaire's Row or if you're curious to find out more about the Peranakan culture/lifestyle, you must visit the Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum. The house belonged to a Chinese merchant named Chan Cheng Siew and his family. The descendants have turned the grand home into a... More

Museums can be ordinary places, this one certainly isn't. The guided tour is interesting, instructive, and a real learning experience. You can hear and see what life was like in 19th century Melacca and connect with the family through portraits, place and almost share their life.
