This was the only Chinese garden I visited on my trip. It is adjacent to the Bazaar and it's many shoppers and vendors. The peace and beauty of the garden are in sharp contrast to the activities just beyond its entrance. It is what you would expect of a Chinese garden but that doesn't make it any less spectacular. Well-kept... More

It is very quiet although in the very city center. Very relaxing place, lots of flowers, trees, hidden gardens. If you want to fully touch Chinese culture from the very past it is a must see.

Very different to other gardens I've visited in China - but equally impressive with the craftsmanship and quality. It's relatively speaking very small but laid out in such a way as it feels much bigger with plenty of eye-candy in every direction. Truly impressive.

A classic garden with abundant flowers, buildings, rock formations, pools. Take your time and wander around and imagine what it must of have been like in the past.

Beautiful place to visit. It is a typical Chinese garden. There is a tourist market just next-door. Walking-distance from the Bund.

The garden and around it are a real pleasure. In the pond the grey fish is 51 year old. The atmosphere is romantic. The area around the garden, with its market, shops and restaurant is unique. Worth a visit. Go to the near restaurant lu Bo Lang

Very pretty but most important shows you some aspects of the history in which it was built and how the elite lived thier lives. Enjoyed walking around it, having a rest under the trees and looking at the beautiful Japanese fish in the ponds. Absolutely beautiful and serene..

There's a small fee to pay to enter the garden, but once inside its as busy as the tourist area outside it. As a private garden, I'm sure it was a nice area, but as a public attraction, I found it disappointing. The tourist shops outside are worth visiting for souvenirs, but don't bother going in the garden.
