First of all, I love everything that Proyecto Asis stands for. I think it's amazing how they care for the animals and try to rehabilitate them back to the wild if they can. It was so amazing to be able to hold Baby White Faced Monkey's, hold onto a Spider Monkey's hand, hold a Baby Boa, see beautiful Toucans, Macaws,... More

Our guide, Carlos, was fantastic. The tour was extremely informative, and it is clear how passionate Carlos is about Costa Rica and the wildlife. We sign up for the half day tour and volunteering. Getting to prepare and feed the animals was such an amazing experience. Be sure to bring insect repellent and a bottle of water because it is... More

Proyecto Asis was a definite highlight of our trip. The guide was very knowledgeable, fun, and really enjoyed his job. We got to hold baby monkeys and play with older ones all while learning about them and the other animals. Although there were not that many animals, it was definitely a great time!

Our family of six (with 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 kids ages 10 and 13) took the Volunteer half day tour and loved it. We had Carlos as our guide, and he was not only very knowledgeable, but he was great with the kids and made it fun for all of us. During the first part, we were introduced... More

We did the volunteer tour, and it was a lot of fun for the entire family. Our guide did a wonderful job introducing us to all the animals and teaching us about the species and their individual histories. The kids loved cutting up the fruit to feed the animals, and holding the baby monkeys was an experience of a lifetime!... More

At Proyecto Asis, you learn a lot about the animals, birds etc. that are there, but you also get to touch and sometimes hold them. It's so exciting seeing the animals in the wild, but getting to touch them at Proyecto Asis was awesome. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and all the tour money is used to help Proyecto... Some reviewers have said this place is expensive. However, it is a not for profit that is doing great things to try to rehabilitate illegally captured animals and release the ones it can back into the wild and use the ones it can't to educate people about the issues with animal trafficking. On top of that, holding a monkey has... More

Hola Kevin T, Thank you very much for your support. As we have shared before, our ideal with this project is more than receiving people to see animals, it is protecting endangered, forsaken, injured, orphaned, sick species; as well as sharing a message about different situations to bear in mind when thinking about animals. The idea is much more different... More

We went to this wild animal rescue center in May of 2013. We were fairly impressed with the tour and sanctuary grounds. While we were there, we met a few spider monkeys, macaws and toucans and various other birds, baby white faced monkeys, and other creatures of sorts, one being n huron, something I had never heard of before. This... More

Incredibly knowledgeable guide walked us through each animals area. Patiently answered questions and gave a ton of information. We opted to stay for the longer tour to get the volunteer experience, and it was a definite highlight to our kids. Hi lilbsmom, Thank you a lot for visiting and supporting the project. We were escorted around by the director's son. We learned about Costa Rica's new laws that forbid hunting of animals and how this has added to the number of wild animals in this and other refuges. The monkeys and birds were the most common victims of animal traffickers and are well represented here. We had the rare privilege of seeing... More

Hola jrancov, I guess you had your tour with the director. He’s very acknowledged about this law. It's really important to have reinforcement in our laws, and the fact that this new law has become more strict, it is really good news for the ones who care about the animals and nature as well. We thank you very much for... More
