A long trip...all day...it takes 2 1/2 hours by boat one way but the glaciers and ice bergs were phenomenal!
The fjords and the seals with their pups are just amazing. Can't remember that name, but choose the smaller boat tour - you can get closer to Sawyer Glacier and the seals.
We sailed through Tracy Arm while on the Celebrity Solstice. It was a warm, beautiful, clear day. There were Harbor Seals sitting on ice as we sailed through. It was wonderful!
Seen as part of our cruise, it was one of the highlights of our time in the Inside Passage. The glaciers and the ice flows with the backdrop of stunning mountains are what we came to stare at - and we were not disappointed.
Not one to arise quite so early, but...it was worth every second of lost sleep to sit out on the balcony and experience traveling through Tracy Arm Fjord. One scene was more spectacular than the next.
on the way home our ship cruised past this Fjord and glacier and we spent hours on deck, drinking hot chocolate and gazing in awe at the sights we were part of.....the excitement was palpable as everyone donned coats, hats, gloves just to fill the decks with their cameras......there was something to photograph every few minutes....the blue of the ice...

Tracy Arm Fjord South of Juneau along Stephens Passage., Juneau, AK was part of our itinerary during a seven day Alaska cruise with Celebrity on the Solstice (Amazing Ship). Seeing the Tracy Arm Fjord and the Sawyer Glacier was amazing! I'll let the pictures I posted in this review do the story telling. I hope you enjoy them.
This was a great trip with beautiful views of the glaciers and an excellent crew but be prepared, it is a long day on the water.
It was the coldest part of our trip, but I have to say it was the most beautiful!! The glacier is crystal blue and seals were laying all over the icebergs. Truly spectacular view!!
We traveled as close up to the Sawyer Glacier via the Fjords as was possible on our cruise ship going through the myst and glazing at the incredible scenery and boy does it get cold. Seeing the many deep blue chunks of ice floating we were amazed at how the color of the water changed as we got closer. Awe...
