Living in Cape Town, I have been up table mountain possibly a hundred times. It is a great experience, no matter which route you chose. The longer and strenous the more rewarding. Beautiful if you catch a clear, sunny day (we did). Cablecar ride is short and not scary, views of the city in its bowl are great. Lots of walking paths to enjoy at the top. Met some "dassies" - small animals that look like cute ground hogs.

I could spend hours at the top of table mountain! Just looking out at the sights of Cape Town is wonderful. The cable car trip itself is good fun and there are some great walks at the top. Look out for the dassies!

Paths are well marked after riding up the cable car. Clean restrooms as well as a lovely cafeteria style cafe with amazing meals, snacks, coffee (and wine!). Several places to sit and admire the amazing views. Watch the weather careful and the cloulds come in quickly.
