Nice to walk and visit all the shops with old stuff for every one there is something to collect. At some plaza's the demonstrate the tango so you can relax with a drink and watch this beautiful dance.

A great place at altimeter of the day. It was our favourite place treat out with some lovely street dining. The Sunday market is a must, it is full of life, with some great street entertainment and a huge variety of stalls.

We stayed in an apartment in San Telmo, and despite being told it may not be the "safest area" we thought it was wonderful and loved staying in the area. On Sunday's there is a street fair that seemed miles long, it was amazing to see locals and tourists just milling around, people tangoing in the street, vendors selling freshly... More

We arrived back in Buenos Aires mid afternoon and so caught a train to San Telmo. There are streets and streets of stalls selling all sorts of items and antique shops along the pavements. Also from time to time you happen upon a jazz band or a couple dancing the tango. Along the way are cafes and restaurants and it... More

Very colorful but crumbling neighborhood. The Feria on Sunday is well worth the time and effort to see. Watch out in this neighborhood for petty thievery. While walking around I was constantly reminded by locals to hide my camera.

I have been to San Telmo a couple of times and enjoyed it both times. It is nice to spend some time wandering the streets and looking at the old buildings. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in this area, many of which are aimed at tourists but are still nice to visit. The weekend market was also... More

This was a large market that went on for many blocks, lots of people, lots of junkier crafts for sale and no tango in the streets.

We stayed in San Telmo and enjoyed the convenience to various neighborhoods and landmarks but I'm not sure we'd stay there again. It was just a little too rough for our liking. But there are some good bars and restaurants. Also, the sunday street market is amazing. Could be an amazing neighborhood if it was a little cleaned up.

Our guide warned us about people that squirt tourists with maynaise or mustard. A group of people surround you and offer help. Among the diversion, people are then stolen from without even realising it. Other than that, the market is amazing on Saturday. It has distinct sections: craft, antique and art. We loved it.

You cannot miss San Telmo if you travel to Buenos Aires. One-of- a kind neighborhood in the heart of the city. Full of old buildings, Antique shops, sidewalk coffee houses. It´s so nice to have a coffee in a coffee shop at a table in Plaza Dorrego! `Personally I love walking on Defensa Street! What´s San Telmo like? If it´s the... More
