This is a great place to bring the kids who like to jump across the rocks and the creek. Lots of creek crossings and some interesting things to see to keep them involved. My husband and I hiked the trail this week and I believe I found my own vortex while standing among the tall pine trees and listening to...

We have only done this hike in the springtime (April and May). Starting in the morning (by 9:00) assures one of a parking space in parking lot. Passes or day use fee required. Walking sticks not a necessity, but really help with the many crossings of the creek along the trail (depending how far one hikes, one may cross on...

I loved this place. It was cool on a hot day with ever changing scenery and points of interest. A different view of the countryside than just the red rocks (which are amazing but lets not forget about beautiful forested areas) The trail was relatively flat and the only drawback was the constant stream crossings.
We really loved this hike. It cost $10 (or smht like that) to park there and it's not covered by Red Rock Pass. The hike is really beautiful. You would cross Oak Creek many times, and go along the canyon.
We have just come back from the 6.6 miles trail which received the highest reviews in Sedona. We, and many other hikers, found this trail to be disappointing: We live in Canada and used to this kind of scenery. Right: The red rocks and cliffs are magnificent, but rocks trees and water are not what we were looking for in...

Mostly a canyon walk/hike, during which you will cross Oak Creek about 11 times. In May, the water isn't deep, you just hop across the rocks. As with everything in Sedona, each moment opens to new vistas and beauty. Plan on 3-4 hours to take it all in.
This was about 6 miles roundtrip. I thought it was a pretty trail. Parts of it reminded me of Boynton. There was a lot of creek crossing on this hike. I got my shoes wet at times. This creek was quiet. I couldn't hear the flowing sounds like I did at the Huckaby trail. This was a pretty trail. I...

I've only been here once and that was with some older relatives so didn't get too deep into the canyon. But what we did experience was fantastic. It's a great walk along the creek that's never difficult other than negotiating a few slippery stream crossings. My friends who've hiked it says it remains easy until you run out of trail...

Arrived about 10:00 a.m. and the parking lot was full. We ended parking up the highway about 1/2 mile and walked in. There is a charge for trail by foot or vehicle.
Overall great trail with shade. You will cross the creek several times so would recommend shoes that can get wet. Also this is a walk in and out...
