Must see in Petra, and Petra a must see if visiting Jordan. A feast for the eyes, the heart, and the mind, and completely awe-inspiring!
Nearly 20mins walk from the Visitors centre. Those who prefer walking its fine but for others its better to get a carriage ride organized by the authorities there at 20JD for going to the treasury stay for 10-15min and come back with a 5JD tip to the driver. If you have started early morning a slow casual walk through the...

It's breath taking. Try to go early so there are less people around. The best light to show off the sandstone is earlier or later. But honestly, even if it's for 1 day. You owe it to yourself to go.
Absolutely to be seen at least once in life -time.
Petra is much more than just Al-Kazar and you could spent a day strolling through the city.
Must take lots of water and cover your head.
The best time to go is early in the morning because there is a chance to escape from crowd and admire the "views" in...

Our first view of the Treasury was by night. The way down the path and through the Siq is lit by thousands of candles in brown paper bags, as is the ground in front of the Treasury. We listened to Bedouin music and songs and I can think of no better way to be introduced to Petra.
Certainly lives up to its billing! Definitely a must-see. We did Petra by Night the night before our guided trip and whilst it was atmospheric by candlelight and the music lovely you can't appreciate the walk through the Siq in the dark. Next day it was a revelation. So much to see and take in, the whole site is truly...

Exploring Petra is a fantastic day out. You wind through the Siq, each corner thinking your closer among the beautiful multi coloured rocks and following such history and all of a sudden the Treasury appears before you through 'the crack'. Although Petra is expensive to get it, it is worth it. A free horse ride is offered as part of...

I've wanted to see this place from the first time a saw it, and to say it lives up to and beyond the expectation is being conservative. Not only the Treasure either, the area around you could hike and explore for days...for sure allow more than one day for Petra.
Take the walk, dont ride the carts or horses. Its the easiest most scenic hike ever. Just ignore the vendors, if you utter a word they will be on you like mn mosquitos.
