We walked round and enjoy the expensive shops and galleries. There are more shops than the last time we visited. They even have a Tiffany's. The weather was beautiful.

A great place to shop, stores and restaurants abound for all budjets, thoroughly enjoyed window shopping and exploring all the alleys and passageways. My only regret is that we didn't have enough time to stay longer.
My biggest regret from our trip last May was not being able to spend more time walking the shops and art galleries in downtown Carmel. I wish we had had an extra day because I don't feel like we really got to see this town. Everything closes at 5/6 pm so we were only walking for an hour. I had...

Carmel is charming...like a Beatrix Potter story book town of gable roofed shops with little flower boxes and stunning artworks, interior decor ,furniture and lots of charming restaurants.
Carmel Village is great to walk around and shop or window shop. Most stores are expensive but it's still fun to look. The Carmel Plaza shopping area in particular is beautiful as it's more like a garden with shops then a shopping mall with flowers. The trees and flowers in the center are just beautiful as well as all the...

Great shopping, restaurants and interesting people. We visit this area everytime we are in Carmel and had a great time this time also. It is always changing a little bit here-and-there, and we spent several fun hours browsing about.
Yes while there is still something undeniably touristy about walking around Carmel, the pluses contained in most of the reviews here are accurate and out-weigh the minuses: dog-friendly, foodie-friendly,and wonderful coastlines. it really does take a few days to soak it all in, even the village itself. I think there are more candidates for Architectural Digest per block in Carmel...

What a lovely and truly inspiring surprise. On a whim we hit Carmel Vally for a couple wine tasting stops with our niece. Bernardus was nice, but Chesebro really showed us what it is all about. Every wine was distinctive and of merit, but beyond that was the overall vibe. Chesebro is relaxed and in no way stuffy. The young...
