went here with my boyfriend's relatives. the grounds are really pretty, overlooking the ocean, and the staff was very friendly. would return here.
I have been lucky enough to play the south course six times. The course layout , views etc are spectacular, however the condition of the course was frankly very poor. I appreciate the need to overseed etc but why charge in excess of two hundred dollars ?? . It is such a shame that this iconic course should be let... More
Although it's expensive it's definitely worth it. I played the south course which was surprising long but in great condition. Wonderful views and unique paraglider spectators overhead. No problem getting a tee time.
Have been wanting to play Torrey Pines for some time and had the chance in October. Decided against a guaranteed tee time since 1) I was a single; and 2) the South Course had been "conditioned" in the past 2 weeks and I figured it wouldn't be as heavily played. Got there early (lucky it was my first full day... More
Although I don't golf, I have toured this outstanding course a few times with my late Father who was the course's Amateurs Treasurer back in the 80s. Now, with the adjacent hotel offering a unique venue for a golf vacation in San Diego, Torrey Pines is a must-do for serious duffers. Whatever the weather, you won't go wrong playing a... More
Torrey Pines, particularly the South Course, is magnificent. The holes are long and are defined either by the ocean or by deep ravines that cut through the property. It was in excellent condition when we played. But this is a public course where the "dawn patrol" of locals spend the night in the parking lot (like Bethpage Black) in order... More
This was a stop on the tour provided by Tour Guide Tim. Very nice golf course, well maintained. When we were there they were in the process of reseeding for winter. Proshop is good with lots of apparel to purchase at a reasonable price. While not an avid golfer it was nice to see the legendary course. Lots of pictures... More
If you are an avid golfer, or golf fan, the history and scenery at Torrey Pines is a definite "bucket list" item!
To be fair they had just completed the fall aeration which surprisingly made the greens really poor but the fairway and rough was also really burned out. Even with a 20% discount I still had to pay $180 to play, plus a $40 booking fee...too steep for the condition. As a serious golfer though I had to check it off... More
While on business travel in Southern California, I found it imperative to try and play the famous Torrey Pines South Course. Being from the East Coast I was unsure of how often I would have the opportunity and I was fortunate enough to play it. What I did was real simple. I stayed locally, at the Hilton Torrey Pines and...
