It's a great place to see a play (mostly revivals of old plays) Small and cozy. There are occasional concerts and other events held in the theater.
I am so glad that we have historic buildings. We need to keep them!! I wish that I could have gone inside. Downtown Monterey has many cool, old buildings.
Although California History is a bit later than the history of the rest of the country, Monterey was California's first Capitol. Although currently closed, this site is open during Monterey's amazing "Christmas in the Adobes" even, held the first week of December. Period clothing, food, luminarias ... in short? Monterey as it was in the 1860s.
