Colorful , well kept, great selection of plants all with name markers to help familiarize one with california plants.

I've seen them all (except Hawaii) and this is the best. One of the things that makes it the best is there's plenty of grounds surrounding the Capitol, unlike other states who built on those grounds. Just try finding the Capitol building in Phoenix!

The grounds of our state capitol are beautiful! The property was very clean and welcoming. A lot of monuments these days are over done with security and barriers but it was nice to walk right up and take a peek inside. The gardens were simply lovely; don't miss this garden when in Sacramento especially the rose garden and the military monuments.

The rose garden, cactus garden, wild life, memorials and the trees. Lots of places to sit and rest. A beautiful and educational stroll.

I visited Capitol Park while in sacramento for NHD-CA 2013. As a middle school student I really took in all the history. The Capitol Building was so breathtaking as well as the various memorials including the Sisters of Mercy Memorial and 9/11 plaque. I took about 200 pictures here. Just that! A beautiful park. It is right in the center of Sacramento,very lovely area. The Capitol was friendly and amazing.

Very green park right in the middle of Sacramento downtown area. Even on a hot sunny day, this place feels nice and cool with trees all around. The 2 rose gardens are also very pretty with lots of rose varieties. I took my parents here when they came to visit and my mom absolutely loved the rose gardens.
