If you are a history buff or just an admirer of beautiful architecture then this is your place. There are tours that run daily by docents. Make sure you go on one so you don't miss out on the history of past governors and the building itself. You need a whole day to do the park and the building to... More

This is a great tour. A lot of history and fun facts. The visit is well worth it. Great for all ages.

We took the museum tour that provides an overview of the design and building of the Capitol as well as a visit to both chambers and a stop at the old and new governor's office. We could only see the old office because the new one, obviously, is in use. The building is beautiful and deserves the time spent on... More

The only capitol I haven't visited & photographed is in Hawaii. This one is the best, except for the one in DC! Gorgeous inside and out. One of the things I really like about California's capital is they haven't done what so many others have, built all around it and reduced the grounds. Large park grounds in back, with lots... More

The museum includes displays and information about the several-year restoration of the Capitol, which anyone interested in architecture would enjoy. Once in the Capitol itself, the rotunda, and the legislative chambers are rather awe-inspirering.

Gorgeous building in a picturesque setting. Gleaming white dome and roman columns on the outside, marble, stained glass and beautiful woodwork on the inside. Guided tours are offered, but you can do a walk through on your own with a map provided. You may sit in on sessions in progress. Beside the current Governor's office, they have preserved the orinal... More

The guide was very knowledgeable and it made the experience fun. I didn't know about the history of Sacramento until we went to the tour and it was very cool.

The building is spectacular and we actually got to sit in the gallery and listen to part of a session discussing a new immigration bill.
