Attended their wine release party for club members last weekend. We aren't members but tagged along with friends who are. Grounds are gorgeous! HUGE oak trees about cover several thousand square feet of ground and the deck. Even though the day was hot, it was cool and breezy in the shade. They also have acres and acres of lavender fields.... This winery is set in some if the most beautiful scenery. The history behind the winery is very interesting. This is a must stop.

One of the volunteers from the Sonoma Chamber of Commerce said Matanzas was her favorite winery so we decided to take her advice and head out there from Napa. It was a beautiful, sunny day after raining the day before. We arrived at around 11 a.m. and tasted an amazing Chardonnay. We explored the gardens and photographed the beautiful landscape.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the winery. It's beautiful even in the winter--we got a brief hail storm and a rainbow instead of the lavender. Pat was a knowledgable and friendly host. The wines were very good and reasonably priced. The tasting room is spacious and lovely. We can't wait to visit again in the spring. This would... More

This was our first stop in wine country and we're so glad we stopped. I think this was my favorite! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, we had 6 tastings for the cost of $5. The wines were delicious, though the bottle purchases seemed to be a little overpriced. The grounds were amazing, be sure to stop by the barrel... More

Very impressive gardens, the lavender had already been harvested, but the grasses and fall color were in beautiful display. Looked like a great place to play a game of bocce, hang out and have some wine. We were there at ten am so passed on the wine tasting.

My husband and I always try to come back and visit while we are in the area seeing family. Coming here is always on the list. They are friendly and well informed and not in a hurry. It is such a peaceful experience walking up past the lavender and water ponds to the tasting room. We were too late to... More

I will tell you first, I was never interested or even particularly cared about the smell of lavender until i visited here. As soon as you walk into their lobby, a rush of lavender hits your nose as you almost insantly relax. I did some wine tasting with my fiance and was not dissapointed either! While my fiance shopped for... More

what could be better on a warm day, than sitting on a deck under a huge live oak tree with a glass of world class sauvignon blanc? Taking a stroll in their amazing lavender gardens...

I may be a bit biased. I've been lucky enough to visit, as my mom lives not too far from here. The beauty of this location is that it's not too far from downtown Santa Rosa, yet enough out of the way with a scenic drive to get there. Not so large and commercialized as some of the bigger wineries.... More
