We visited the mine June 7 and had a great time. Rumors of its closing are false. Go and enjoy anytime.

This is an amazing, family owned, inspirational experience! It is like traveling in a Time Machine! You go back to Colorado mining days of the 1800's! Informative and entertaining. It was great to ski for a few days and then take a break to visit the Country Boy Mine and learn about the local area. Don't miss it if you... More

I've been to the Country Boy Mine numerous times and am always amazed at how difficult the job of mining had to have been, particularly at high altitude. The Country Boy Mine is OPEN. People are having fun on the tours, finding gold in the Eureka Creek, petting the donkeys and sliding down the 55 foot ore chute!! A must... More

Tried to go in early May 2013. Showed up but it is all chained off. Asked at the gas station on the way out of town and was told it was closed now.

We've been to Breck a bunch of times and finally made it to the Country Boy Mine. It was too cold & windy to ski, so this was our opportunity to check it out and we're glad we did. It's only a few miles from Downtown and is easy to find. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed hanging out... More

This was my first tour of a gold mine. I never knew how dangerous and strenuous this work was. At the tour's conclusion, you get to pan for gold or slide down one of the huge shoots. Very interesting!

It was educational (you get to walk through the mine) and fun for the kids as they got to pan for gold at the end of the tour. The walking area is wet and slippery in some places - wear tennis shoes. It is cold in the mine - wear a jacket. Also, the website mentions some type of ride... More
