We've driven over and hiked the Colorado National Monument many times over the past thirty years. It's a wonderland of beauty and adventure. When visiting also venture over to Glade and Little Park. You see the "back side" of the "Monument" and Colorado McGinnis Canyons. The Colorado National Monument facilities are well maintained and it is easy to enjoy. If... More

It was worth the 23 mile trip to see it close up. It was a great backdrop for our 18-hole golfing the day before

Did the Lower Monument Canyon hike to Independence Monument on a Saturday morning from 6:30-8:30 a.m. This was a fantastic moderate-difficulty hike...great to burn off some calories before a day of wine tasting. Glad we did it before it got too hot later in the day.

The Colorado National Monument is not only a beautiful place to visit it is also a host to mountain biking and very historic. Independence rock is spectacular and cold shivers point, is also a must see.

The views from just the drive up or down are breath taking. The best viewing is either early in the day or an hour or two before sunset. The colours look so much richer and the shadows give such definition to the landscapes.

There are some very good views of red sandstone canyons. A nice place to visit for an afternoon, but doesn't have the depth of nearby Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

This was a breathtaking trip up the mountains and viewing the canyons. Looking down takes your breath away. It's a half day drive through the steep, steep, cliffs and very educational. There are a lot of areas to pull over and view and a visitors center on the west end that is very informative. Something everyone should see. What a... More

Amazing, nicely underused. They are thinking about making this a national park. I hope they don't. I enjoy the quiet peacefulness and no traffic.

We never heard of this National Park until a trip to Grand Junction. Everyone in town told us we HAD to go there and they were correct. A great drive, some easy hikes and a incredible experience. You drive through canyons at all different levels and get to see on top of some spires. The scenery was so spectacular that... More

This is a nice park to visit during the spring break or fall break of school with family. There are lots of walking trails to venture out for a sack lunch or longer trails for the better fit individuals. There is a visitors center which is interesting for learning more about the monument, and camping that is only walking distance... More
