The vistas of theGreat Plains and the Continental Divide were beautiful. We love nature and were not disappointed but-DRESS WARM( and be sure you can handle 14,000 ft above sea level where the oxygen 50% less.)wear a good boot or shoe since snowy and slippery and drink sips of water which helps with the high altitude to avoid nausea. Honestly... More

The Cog Railway was a fun experience for the family. As most of the reviews say the seats are hard and, at times, slippery due to the grade. The views were awesome. The train conductor was very good. The railway personnel did kinda oversell the take water with you (buy water from us) (it's not like you are hiking up... More

My family and I went on the Cog Railway last week. The whole trip last about 3 hours, our trip started at 1:30 and ended at 4:30. I would recommend that you dress warm it was 27 degrees and snowing. Also wear good shoes because it is icy and slippery in some spots. The train ride up was fun. the conductor... More

They are very proud of the doughnuts @ the top but they taste like greasy lumps of sugar. The fryers are too cool because of the altitude...bad deal in my opinion. You basically bump your way to the top on hard seats without padding. That sucked. Drink lots of water if your bladder can deal with it. The ride-person told... More

I really enjoyed the cog train to the top of Pike's Peak. Most of the seats are rows of 2 or 3 in a table like setting where strangers in one row are face to face with the row in front of them. My wife and I were lucky enough to have a row of seats to ourselves at the... More

It was an amazing ride to the top and back! I would have never survived the drive to the top and back down...lol...so the cog railway was the way to go! Wear pants and bring jackets to the top! it was extremely cold and windy! Great shop at the top, but very spendy! I would do this again!

Clatter from about 7,000 feet to 14,100 feet in a little over an hour. The seating on the cog rail cars isn't particularly comfortable, but nobody really seemed to care. This is an experience, not a luxury tour. Caution...if you have problems with high elevations, this may not be for you. Check with your doctor before including the cog railway... More

Three of us rode the Cog Railway round trip. Fantastic views, but the tram cars are very uncomfortable. You are assigned seats, with 2 or 3 facing each others. The seats are shaped, but hard, and hard on the back. Very little leg room to your facing passengers. If you are seated next to a bulkhead, the views are severely... More

This could be a good experience but it appears the operators are using the popularity of the mountain to maximize profits and give little consideration to the paying customers. It is a three hour return trip and you get cheap nasty plastic seating. If you are seated facing backwards you are constantly slipping forward especially on the steeper grades. Also... More

Though I like train travel of any kind this trip was very uncomfortable due to the small size of the seats. Also the seats where just hard seats with no seat cushions. There was barely any room to move. The good part was that our conductor Daryl? was very informative and entertaining. The views from the window seats are outstanding.... More
