Love the beach! The water was clear and cool, so refreshing. Much better beach conditions than Myrtle Beach.

Our family loves the Daytona Beach. White sand, clear water, plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. On our last visit, we walked the beach after a rain shower and saw dozens of moonjellies that had washed ashore (small jellyfish with no tentacles that don't sting). Very cool.
Not recommend for families with small children. The beach area in Daytona has never been very good but it has gone down in the past several years even though the city is trying to clean up the area. Too many throw backs from the "60"s (of which I am one).

Daytona Beach, FL has great waves and the beach is wide, so I never feel crowded. Having vendors on the beach is great for getting some food, snacks, umbrella/chair rental, etc. I especially like where we stay (Wyndham Ocean Walk) because there is a "no drive zone" in front of this resort. Hope to go back in 2014!
Flat, smooth, and clean beaches for 23 miles gives plenty of room to have great family fun. Daytona Beach is a beach that is a joy to walk on for miles, or jog, and even ride bikes as well as play and swim in the surf that offers constant breakers.
Went to Daytona/Ormond Beach after having visited a few years ago. It seemed a bit tired in the area, run down buildings and weedy empty lots. Needs some TLC to get back to it's former glory.
Just stayed at the Hilton and spent a lot of time walking the boardwalk and the fishing pier. While the amusement park is a little tacky, the beach itself is flat, with packed sand that is very easy to walk on. Lots of beach chairs and umbrellas to rent, food trucks all along the beach, and a nice crowd of...

We ended up staying at the plaza. it was a great hotel. very clean. we had 4 children in our party and they enjoyed the beach and pool while we relaxed. many great places to eat, especially if you like seafood
Had alot of fun relaxing on the beach all week. Lifeguards are out in the day and beach patrol was always coming up and down the beach all day. Food trucks were plenty on the beach and the kids enjoyed the ice cream truck.
Ocean waves are very relaxing and it is very laid back. But after dark watch out for the hermit crabs - my husband is a jokester and thought it was funny to make me think he caught one and put a shell on me almost causing a coronary lol. But the rascal was paid back when he accidentally stepped on...
