Outstanding! Very knowledgeable volunteers, provide great education on native butterflies. How to attract and provide food & shelter in our own yard. Very peaceful garden with QR codes that can be scanned with detailed plant info

This is a cool place to visit. We will definitely be back. It is an enjoyable little place to actually see and learn about butterflies. They raise their own butterflies and while we were there they released into the public greenhouse the butterflies that had hatched overnight. There is a cute little restaurant, a gift shop, and an artists shop. There are lots of plants for sale also. The volunteers are wonderful, knowledgeable, and informative. If you want a relaxing place to go and learn something new and exciting then this is the place.

We checked their website which stated the museum closes at 3pm. We arrived at 2pm with 4 adults and 2 young children only to find out the museum closes at 2pm.
I advised what their website stated and was told, matter of factly, the website hours were the “seasonal” hours and once season ends, the hours change.
I advised the young lady the website hours need to be updated to always include the current hours.
How disappointing when you have family traveling from Europe and of all the places we’ve visited, this was the only place with incorrect posted hours!
They just don’t care about us locals, it’s all about the Season!

It was nice but small and underwhelmed. Would not go a second time. There is a gift shop and small gallery there. You can also have a meal at the restaurant on site we where told they specialize in pastry products.

Although small, this adventure is fun for the whole family. As well as being fun, knowledgeable staff makes it educational

This is a single greenhouse with some plants (many potted, not all permanent landscaping) and maybe 5-6 species of butterflies. Interesting enough for a few minutes, but not worth the $10/person admission.

We were also very underwhelmed with the educational element. The attendant gave us a 3-minute overview (egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly), pretty much what you learned in first grade, then pointed us to a small exhibit showing different species on different plants.

Also underwhelming to learn from the attendant that the tally of “released” butterflies were mostly “released” into their greenhouse. Not what we understood that to mean.

Overall, the mission is good in theory but this felt like a bit of a rip-off.

This is a real gem tucked away on a side street in Ft Myers. It was recommended by an employee of the Naples Botanical Gardens when we expressed our disappointment over the closing of their children's butterfly garden.
Arrive soon after they open at 10am and you are able to witness the first flight of the butterflies who have emerged from their chrysalis and been deemed ready to release.
It was fascinating to hear how native butterfly eggs are gathered from host plants growing right there and learn which butterflies use each plants as hosts.
We have already planted a passion vine shrub to hopefully watch 3 varieties of native butterflies thrive and become local pollinators !
Thanks to the Butterfly Museum for a great educational morning that our 4 and 6 yr old grands really enjoyed!

Nice quick tour of a butterfly greenhouse. Able to see caterpillars in waiting. The ladies that worked there were very nice and able to answer all questions. Worth a stop.

Brought here by friends to see the butterfly's . Easy to find and purchased tickets to enter. Staff explained and educated us on what was going on and what we will see.
