I am not a museum person, but we went here as part of an event. I have to say, it was pretty interesting. They had lots of interactive question stations, which entertained my teen (who is into history). It went through time with Florida history, lots of different things to look at. We went to the gift shop and my... More

It was a very good museum with friendly staff and a well laid out thorough presentation. They also had a fine art exhibit following the museum tour (I don't remember who), a place to eat and a gift shop.

This was a very interesting small museum that summarized Florida's history from ancient times to the present. It was al set out in an interesting manner and was very informative. The area that has changing expositions had a lovely montage of paintings by local artists.

The exhibits ate very nicely done, with a lot of effort. Good interactivity for kids too. I was only missing more contemporary history, like the many retirees In the state or the hanging chads story.

The museum of Florida History is located just west of the Florida Supreme Court building and one block away from the Capital Complex. A parking garage is located right next door. Parking is free as well as admission into the museum! Even though I have visited this museum numerous times in the past, this was the first time I was... More

This museum shows the history of Florida, from prehistoric times through the 20th century. There is something for everyone here, including kids' areas for hands-on learning. Admission is free, with a suggested donation amount, and free parking is available for museum guests. Also, there is a great little restaurant if you're there during breakfast or lunch time.

Tallahassee is a little out of the way for most FL residents, but if you make it there (probably for school or to lobby for your cause ;) definitely check out the Museum of FL History. It is free to attend and free to park if you get a token from the gift shop after you tour the museum. You... More

The family and I had such a wonderful time at the museum. There was more than nough historical information for my girls to enjoy. The prehistoric mammoth was a beautiful site and my children just loved it. I wish that we would have gotten there much earlier. If you decide to visit, which you should, make sure you set aside...
