2nd time at the pier whilsy on location - both times a pod of dolphins and also 3 stingray this time. Super restaurant (Sharkys) at beginning if pier.
This is a great spot whether you want to fish early morning or watch the sunset. Also, a great place to watch fireworks on the 4th of July. There is a little bait shop located right on the pier which is very convenient. I go out there early mornings to watch for dolphins and manatees and always see them!
Did not go out on the Pier because there were "NO DOGS ALLOWED", EVERYWHERE we went. We have two old dogs, terrier and Maltese. It's a great place for not only fishing, but to take in sunsets. The Jetty is stunning! I love the huge rocks.

We saw people fishing for shark, we saw dolphins swimming, and watched a beautiful sunset. Today we took our kids fishing all day on the pier. We brought our own poles and tackle box but you... More
We often walk out on the pier after dining at Sharky's. There is a beautiful view of the Venice Beach area both north and south. It is interesting to see what the fisherman are catching. At night they shark fish off the end of the pier. That can be exciting to watch when someone actually catches one.
